Operating a fleet of ATR turboprop aircraft, Blue Islands plays a vital role in ensuring high frequency, regional connectivity to the Channel Islands – an essential part of the islands' economy and residents' social wellbeing. Together with its scheduled services, Blue Islands also operates series charters from across Europe for tour operator partners, ad-hoc European break destinations direct from the Channel Islands, as well as charters for sporting and corporate clients.
The Chief Technical Officer is a leadership role (part of the executive team), reporting to the CEO. The successful candidates’ primary function is to take financial control, accountability, and operational oversight for the Part 145, base inputs, fleet planning and lease management, working closely with senior management with accountability for ensuring compliance with best practice and all applicable regulations. Responsibilities will include selection and management of the engineering team, contracted organisations, production, and responsibility of the engineering budget with short- and long-term forecasts, negotiation of contracts with suppliers, commercial oversight of aircraft leases and end of lease returns.
A data driven leader, you will have extensive experience in aircraft engineering management, specifically on the ATR type, proven commercial expertise in negotiating contracts, powerplant management, and financial oversight. Ability to focus on detail and continually drive improved optimisation of safety, compliance, customer service and financial control. With an ability to actively participate and contribute as part of the strategic leadership team.
