VIP tour at Jersey Airport for Jersey's Bel Royal School
Pupils from Bel Royal Primary School were treated to a full VIP tour of Jersey Airport in February.
After arriving at check-in, the children aged six and seven, were full of excitement as they proceeded through security checks with their boarding cards before boarding the Blue Islands ATR aircraft for as near to a flight experience as you can get, without actually taking off. There was a real buzz onboard as the group, some of whom had not been on an aircraft before, enjoyed visiting the flight deck to meet the captain and first officer before taking their seats for the cabin crew's safety demonstration and a short taxi around Jersey's airfield.
Once back on stand, the Year 2 group disembarked and visited Jersey Airport's Air Traffic Control tower to learn how aircraft movements in and around the airport are controlled, and of course taking the opportunity to appreciate the views from the impressive 127 foot tower.
